Production of CARICOM country reports on food security and livelihoods impacts of Covid-19
Partner agencies: United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) - CARICOM
Timeline: 2020
Project Background: The project aimed to assess the impact of COVID-19 on food security and livelihoods in the Caribbean region through the analysis of survey responses collected by WFP Caribbean. Conducted in two rounds, the survey gathered data from 22 countries and territories, informing the work on shock-responsive social protection.
Objective: Production of 18 country reports, along with one summarizing data from OECS countries, analyzing shifts in impacts over time and disaggregating data by demographic and income characteristics.
Results: The reports offered insights into the evolving effects of COVID-19 on markets, food security, and livelihoods, thereby supporting the development of effective shock-responsive social protection programs in the region. The outputs included visually appealing reports presenting both quantitative and qualitative analyses, accompanied by narrative summaries of key findings, to inform policymakers and stakeholders in CARICOM member states and territories.
